| I am in need of a roomate for one of the bedrooms in my 3 bedroom apartment. It is available Sept first, there is no lease, but we are looking for someone that can stay long term. First/last-split internet, electric, and gas. The house is a good size, could use some more decor. There is free laundry in the basement, off street parking (I think) No dogs, may be able to allow other pets.
There is an artist studio on the 3rd floor shared by all 3 tenants, so this place would be ideal for an artist type. We are looking for some one that is somewhat neat, and very reliable. | comments: Leave a comment |

| I'm in need of at least 2 strong people to help me move my couch & my full size bed from my old place in Medford to my new place in Malden. I have a large van they will both fit in. I'm sure this will not take longer then 30 mins to an hour. If I need to bribe with alcohol, or monies.....it could be possible. I'm moving all my things myself in my little hatch back....but I know I can't lift these 2 things on my own :(

The Associated Press Thurs., Jan. 15, 2009
HAMMOND, Ind. - In a scene straight out of the movie "A Christmas Story," a 10-year-old boy got his tongue stuck to a metal light pole.
Police said the unidentified fourth-grader was able to tell them that a friend dared him to lick the pole Wednesday night. Temperatures in Hammond were around 10 degrees at the time.
By the time an ambulance arrived, the boy was able to yank his tongue off the frozen pole.
Police said ambulance personnel explained to the boy's mother how to care for his bleeding tongue.
The 1983 movie is set in a fictional city based on Hammond, the hometown of author Jean Shepherd.

| I just called verizon and turned it off. I had it on the way to the club last night. I didn't have it in the club, or when I got home. I'm pretty sure it fell in a snow banking when I got out of the car.....it was a $300 phone...I'm really bummed.

Please send me all your phone numbers! Even if you think I don't want it, or already have it. Email me or message me on Myspace/facebook
I have no idea when I will be able to afford a new one....but if I start harassing you now, maybe I'll have a good collection when I do.

| David Copperfield stops show after assistant is injured on stage
By Robin Leach
Las Vegas Weekly --December 18, 2008
MGM officials confirmed tonight that headline illusionist David Copperfield had to cancel his magic show there midway through a performance after one of his assistants was injured by the blades of a large industrial fan.
The male assistant was taken to University Medical Center last night and treated for a facial puncture and a broken arm. Members of the crew waited through the night, and David himself went there early this morning with gifts for the injured staffer.
In the illusion, David seems to pass through the blades, which until now many people assumed were made of rubber and not dangerous metal. However, his assistant was caught in the fan while fixing a portion of the exterior machinery -- before David stepped into the machine -- and was sucked into it in full view of the horrified audience.
Another crewmember immediately shut down the whirling blades and pulled the assistant out of further danger.
“It was a pretty scary set of circumstances,” one eyewitness said. Vegas DeLuxe will continue to monitor this story for any updated or late-breaking developments.
David apparently asked the audience to “hold on for a moment” and then moments later shut down the show and told the audience how to obtain refunds at the Hollywood Theater box office inside the MGM.
My MGM sources confirmed that David has performed that illusion some 4,000 times since introducing it into the act and never had a similar problem or mishap.
“Every precaution is taken to always ensure the best of safety concerns are met on our stages. We will look into it, but from what we’ve heard, it’s being made to sound a lot worse than it was reported to us. But we do know now that this particular illusion can be as dangerous as it really looks,” one top MGM executive told me.
David is continuing his run of two nightly shows at MGM until early January.

| Pinup Bettie Page hospitalized after heart attack
By JAMES BELTRAN – 10 hours ago
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bettie Page, a 1950s pinup known for her raven-haired bangs and saucy come-hither looks, was hospitalized in intensive care after suffering a heart attack, her agent said Friday.
"She's critically ill," Mark Roesler of the Curtis Management Group told The Associated Press.
He said the 85-year-old had the heart attack Tuesday and was hospitalized Friday in the Los Angeles area.
A family friend, Todd Mueller, said Page was in a coma. When asked to confirm, Roesler said, "I would not deny that," but he would not comment further on her condition.
Page, a secretary turned model, is credited with helping set the stage for the sexual revolution of the rebellious 1960s. She attracted national attention with magazine photographs of her sensuous figure that were tacked up on walls across the country.
Her photos included a centerfold in the January 1955 issue of then-fledgling Playboy magazine, as well as controversial sadomasochistic poses.
Page later spent decades away from the public eye, and during that time battled mental illness and became a born-again Christian.
After resurfacing in the 1990s, she occasionally granted interviews but refused to allow her picture to be taken.
Mueller credits his business dealings with Page for bringing her out of seclusion. He said he first met her in 1989 when he offered her "a bunch of money" to show up at autograph signings.
"I probably sold 3,000 of her autographs, usually for $200 to $300," he said. "Eleanor Roosevelt, we got $40-$50. ... Bettie Page outsells them all."
